Ethical Travel Photography: Making Deeper Connections & Memories

Travel photography is one of the most powerful ways to preserve memories, share experiences, and connect with others. But how do we ensure we’re doing it respectfully and responsibly? In this session, we’ll explore how ethical travel photography can elevate your storytelling while honoring the people, cultures, and environments you encounter.

Online Virtual Event ·  Thursday, July 10th @ 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET

You’ll walk away with the tools to take meaningful photos that foster deeper connection and cultural understanding. This presentation blends storytelling tips, photography fundamentals, and best practices in ethics to help you become a more mindful traveler and creator.

Candice is a professional travel photographer, content creator, and educator who has taught and written extensively on the subject of ethical photography. She’s also a vanlifer and slow traveler who uses her lens to document the history, ecology, and culture of the places she visits.

When we’re finished, you’ll know:

  • The best practices of ethical travel photography

  • How to respectfully capture stories through photography, videography, and journaling.

  • The art of visual storytelling through framing, lighting, and intention.

  • What to consider before clicking the shutter: 5 self-check prompts.

This event is perfect for travelers, creators, and storytellers who want to take better photos and be more intentional global citizens. Whether you’re new to photography or a seasoned visual storyteller, this session will offer fresh inspiration and practical tools for crafting ethical images.

Candice is a travel and lifestyle content creator focused on sustainability, van life, and conscious travel. She is the founder of Chasing Candice, where she documents stories from the road as a writer, photographer, and videographer. With more than a decade of experience behind the camera, Candice has led content for documentaries, taught workshops around the U.S., and authored two books on photography. Her work empowers travelers to explore with intention, connect deeply, and leave no trace behind.
