Regenerative Travel in Mexico City: Supporting Culture & Communities

Join us to discover the beauty, street rhythms, and vibrant culinary scene that make Mexico City an unforgettable destination! See how responsible travel in Mexico City can support local families while getting beyond the usual routes. Gentrification in Mexico City challenges the rich diversity that makes each neighborhood unique, replacing family-run businesses and local gathering places with uniform cafes and luxury developments.
Online Virtual Event ·  Thursday, September 11th @ 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET
By spending time in markets and community-run spaces that highlight Mexican culture and everyday life, travelers can help sustain the people who keep these traditions alive while experiencing the electric energy that truly defines the city. Attendees will learn how regenerative travel opens doors to neighborhoods rich with tradition and stories often overlooked.
You’ll leave this event with:
  • Knowledge about what regenerative travel looks like in Mexico City and why it matters.
  • Practical ways to support local families and preserve traditions while exploring the city.
  • Insight into neighborhoods, markets, and culinary experiences that go beyond typical tourist routes.
  • Inspiration to reimagine travel as a tool for positive impact and deeper cultural connection.
  • Concrete ideas for how to share these values with clients or apply them to their own travels.
Presented by our 2026 Tour Guide, Dylan Dornfeld has spent over seven years living in Mexico and twelve years immersed in Latin America, learning from its people and cultures. Originally from Los Angeles, California, he’s spent all of his adult life living and learning in Latin American countries Argentina, Nicaragua, and México, where he proudly attained double citizenship. In 2023, he received a Masters degree in Latin American Studies from UCLA, where he also taught in the Spanish department! He’s passionate about ensuring that travel experiences go above and beyond responsible tourism, paving a path toward regenerative travel, and leaving lasting positive impacts in all the places we visit.
