We’re hosting an SF/Bay Area travel meetup and happy hour at a German Holiday Market right by the Mountain View Caltrain Station (600 W Evelyn Ave, Mountain View, CA 94041)!
Super casual, meet new friends, connect about travel experiences, and have a drink or two. This annual holiday market hosted by the German International School of Silicon Valley is open all day from 11am-9pm if you want to head over earlier or stay later, but we’ll be meeting up to celebrate from 4:30pm-6:30pm.
To connect with the group, meet our chapter leaders at the Mountain View Caltrain Station between 4:15 and 4:30pm. From there, we’ll head into the market area together and find a spot to chat before exploring the market with our new friends. Latecomers can reach out to @turtle.island.wanderer or @innatewanderer on Instagram to find the group!
You can expect a jovial atmosphere of a traditional open-air, European winter market located in the heart of Silicon Valley. Shop for unique, handcrafted gifts from Germany and local artisans: Wood ornaments and nutcrackers from Germany, Lebkuchen (gingerbread), Stollen, chocolate, toys, ceramics, and knitwear. Taste traditional German sausages and candied almonds while warming up with a mug of Glühwein (warm mulled wine), the hallmark of these winter markets.
The German Holiday Market offers plenty of activities for the entire family, including live performances and arts and crafts.
This event is open to travel lovers of any kind, so bring a friend, partner, or cool co-worker with you. We’ll do introductions at the start and you’ll be able to order a drink or snack at the venue and get to know someone new.
Note: Our events run on a pay-what-you-can basis to help us cover the cost of bringing these kind of events to you. We appreciate any support you’re able to give!
