DescriptionHave you ever wanted to volunteer your time across the globe and really make an impact? Hear the story of how this adventure-loving empty-nester found her calling by joining a medical team that performs cataract surgeries for those in need around the world.
Lisa had never considered going into the medical profession. She heard about the need for volunteers on a medical trip and learned everything she needed to in order to get it done. While her learning curve was painfully steep, her dedication and ability to laugh at herself (on the regular) provided her the ability to become a valuable member of a professional team.
In less than three years, she's been an integral team member on clinics around the globe, from Costa Rica to the Dominican Republic to the island of Palau, and helped restore sight for as many as 600 people.
During this event, you'll learn:
- The worldwide impact of cataracts
- How she got this opportunity
- What a day in their O.R. looks like
- The unique challenges they face
- The positive impact being made
- Opportunities for you to make a difference
