Just a few of the plethora of activities The Philippines has to offer. This Southeast Asian archipelago of 7,600+ islands is frequently overlooked on the common SEA backpacker trails. Why? Most common gripes: β€œIt’s so much more expensive than other countries”, β€œIt’s hard to get there”, β€œIt’s hard to get around”. In this session, you’ll not only learn how to work through these concerns, but you’ll understand why this perpetually instagrammable tropical country is worth the trip.

It only took a few decades for Leah to get to her parents’ homeland, but when she finally arrived it was more than she ever dreamed of.

On Tuesday, Leah will enlighten us about:
- Why you should go to The Philippines?
- Filipino culture
- Some delicious Filipino dishes
- Things to know before you go
- Must-bring items for your trip
- What to see & do, and where to visit in The Philippines

🌟 LEAH ARAO 🌟 is an event manager by day, podcaster at all hours, and constantly has travel running through her veins. Born, raised, and educated in Los Angeles, her love of exploration stemmed from her family road-tripping all over the USA through childhood.

She transitioned her digital media career into backpacking, working & volunteering in South America for a year, then moving to Australia on a Working Holiday Visa to work in events. Leah values longevity in a place over countries ticked off a checklist, and stories over souvenirs. She believes in relatable and accessible budget travel for all, encourages solo females to work through doubts & take the trip, all while obsessing over coffee, hostels, local dances, and street food!

Recently Leah has stepped up to take on more active roles in her travel and podcasts communities. She is the Chapter Leader for TNN LA and has recently become a Virtual Host for The Nomadic Network Events!
