Retirement doesn’t have to be a matter of just playing out life’s string of events.
It’s not a signal to slow down your life and start a long downhill slide.
It’s really an opportunity to begin a new, richly rewarding, free, and independent lifestyle beginning in your 60s!
I quickly grew tired of the typical “retirement routine” a few years ago and desired something more invigorating in my life.
One night in 2014 while in my recliner watching YouTube travel videos, I was struck with the idea that nothing was stopping me from traveling. From that day on I thought about nothing but travel.
I spent eight months preparing, then four years living on the road in 20 countries on four continents. I was a nomad with no home address, traveling where and when I wanted on my own itinerary, always subject to change.
I called it “Senior Solo Adventure Travel”.
Now, in a live TNN Zoom presentation, I’ll talk about my travel epiphany and continuing journey, about how I prepared myself to make a new life on the road, and what I learned from four years of solo world travel in my 60s.
I’ll talk about practical matters such as money, health, fitness, insurance, destinations, planning, and how to get around. I’ll also discuss feelings such as freedom, loneliness, romance, aging and ageism, as well as the life-changing effect that travel has on people of all ages.
I’ll take all your questions, too, and it’s an interactive video session, so I’m looking forward to seeing you in the conversation!
