Description
After the peace agreement in 2016, Colombia became one of the hottest up-and-coming destinations for travelers worldwide.Rodrigo's Colombia-based travel company, Impulse, focuses on peace-building and social justice projects. They identify local changemakers (who usually have complex backgrounds) that lead projects for collective healing, social change, and economic empowerment within their communities.
Impulse works with these changemakers to create experiences and services that will allow their projects to connect with the tourism value chain, which helps their projects thrive and have a sustained community impact. This also provides a huge value for travelers visiting Colombia who really want to connect with Colombian people, culture, and unique projects that really make a difference on their trip.
In this talk, Rodrigo Atuesta will walk us through how travelers have helped Colombia become reborn from its ashes, in turn, have rebranded the whole country into a must-visit destination!
RODRIGO ATUESTA was born and raised in Bogotá, Colombia. After college, Rodrigo set off to travel the world solo for a year and he found out that his home country had the huge untapped potential for meaningful travel. He co-founded Impulse, a local experiences provider that offers immersive travel experiences and supports Colombia’s social transformation process. Impulse is now a leading travel brand in Colombia and works with the private sector, government, and institutions to advance Colombia's regenerative travel agenda.
