Want to learn how to travel the globe while teaching online?

Mia will share her experiences as a VIPKid teacher who loves to travel.

She will share tips and tricks of getting hired, comparisons between online teaching platforms, and the reality of what it’s like being an online teacher on the move.

🎤 Mia is a traveler seeking to understand the world by building meaningful relationships across cultural lines. She's a TESOL certified teacher and has 7 years of experience adventuring to other countries and teaching English. She's also an online ESL instructor enjoying the freedom of creating her own schedule. She's taught English in Japan, Thailand, South Africa, and Myanmar and plans on making it to South Korea next. She has a passion for building connections and being a bridge between cultures through education.

Mia has had the joy of working and volunteering with refugee resettlement organizations in the states and abroad and helped to found a weaving group with women from Burma called "The Weaving Women". She enjoys bringing people together through community events such as cooking parties in Japan or vocational discernment retreats for young people in rural Georgia. In her free time, Mia can be found searching for the best Japanese food in her current city, playing the piano, or getting her dance fitness on! Mia has a bachelor’s degree in international studies and is currently based in Grand Rapids, MI.
