Experiencing the world with your own eyes is special for so many reasons.

Yet, we all know the struggle of trying to convey what you’ve seen and learned while traveling in a tangible and memorable way.

Of course, photography can be a great way to preserve special life moments. But how can you get the best portraits of the people you meet so you can have memories that last a lifetime? What can you do to make your portraits different from other travel snaps? What techniques can you use so when you look back on these portraits you're transported back to the time, place, and person this photo is of?

In this talk, we’ll hear from Phoebe Bowdige who has been a travel photographer since she was 19 years old.

Join us to learn:

  • What kind of equipment to use for great photos (that won’t break the bank)
  • How to take better portraits while on the road, so all of your photos aren't of landscapes
  • Factors that can make or break your photo sessions
  • How to utilize lighting to capture the essence of the moment
  • The principles for taking great portraits of others
  • Respect and understanding for local people you’d like to photograph

PHOEBE BOWDIGE’s passion for travel photography started on a four-month solo trip to India and Vietnam when she was 19 years old. Since then, she’s taken photocentric trips to Japan and Mexico! Originally from Brighton, she loves busy places filled with people and thoroughly enjoys the spontaneity travel brings. Now, Phoebe works at the in-house photographer for Crabtree & Evelyn bringing live to their Connect with Phoebe via her website or Instagram @pheebsbowdige.
