Turn Ordinary Places into Memorable Destinations

      Forum Description

Posted: 8/4/2022 | August 4th, 2022 We all know the “off the beaten track” destinations can offer some relief from touristy hot spots, but even those can get over-crowded. How can we still have a memorable and meaningful experience when so many places have become saturated? Join our speaker John as he offers an alternative approach to exploration and travel. Constantly questioning the meaning of what’s interesting, he will open your mind to consider different destinations, pique your interest to discover new hobbies, and adopt an explorer’s mindset. If you or someone you know would describe a place as “boring,” John will challenge that notion with his suggestions. In this talk, you will come away with:
      • Inspiration to be a modern-day explorer
      • Expanded curiosity to maximize almost any travel experience
      • Suggestions for travel-related hobbies, themes and quests
      • Simple but effective resources to help turn a “boring” destination into a memorable experience
      • Highlights of John's travels that included hobbies and lesser-known destinations
WATCH THE REPLAY ABOUT OUR SPEAKER John McKenzie has traveled to more than 50 countries across 6 continents and throughout the United States. He currently lives in the Washington, DC area. John holds a Master's degree in Geography and served two years in the Peace Corps teaching English in Uzbekistan. He is currently embarking on an entrepreneurial journey to create a more travel-centric lifestyle and prefers to include a human interaction component everywhere he goes. Connect with John:
