Getting Out & Meeting People While Traveling

      Forum Description

Posted: 3/4/2022 | March 4th, 2022 Sightseeing is what most people plan to do while they're traveling, but let's face it, some of our most memorable experiences on the road revolve around people. But it's not always easy to figure out how to meet people when you're in a new place. Luckily, our speaker Leah is an event planner who has been bitten by the travel bug. Her background in events has colored the way she explores and so she doesn't just visit the regular tourist sites, she makes her way around the city like a local by hitting up quirky events, trying all sorts of activities, and meeting people every step of the way. In this presentation, learn:
      • How to find worthwhile events to attend as a first-time visitor
      • Types of activities to seek out and participate in
      • How to design your trip so you're more likely to meet people
      • How to make friends while traveling (including great conversation starters)
      • How to combat loneliness on the road
      • Tips for keeping friendships alive after you've gone home
If you're planning on traveling solo (or with people), this event will give you great ideas for how to design your trip in a way that encourages you to meet new people and make friends as you go! WATCH THE PRESENTATION ABOUT OUR SPEAKER Leah Arao is an event manager, podcast consultant, and co-host of the Ticket 2 Anywhere podcast. After living in, teaching, and working throughout South America and Australia, Leah brings you practical information about how to simplify your travels, avoid mosquito bites, make new friends on the road, pack, plan your budget, and how to find the best coffee shops on the road. You’ll find Leah dishing out all the travel talk on Instagram, TikTok, and her podcast (also on YouTube!). As The Nomadic Network's Los Angeles chapter leader and a native Angeleno she uses LA as her home base and while slowly traveling as a newly-minted flashpacker and remote worker. You may recognize Leah because she's been a regular TNN virtual event host, has presented before, and has made it a point to befriend as many TNN members as possible! Connect with Leah:
