      Forum Description

Young student traveler Caitlyn Lubas sits on top of a sand dune overseas at sunsetThe world is a vast place...full of beauty and wonder! Once you start exploring, you want to go the next country, and the next country, and the next country ...and then the next continent, and the next continent ...and suddenly, the whole world is on your list! But how do you go from planning a trip to one destination to a trip around the whole world? It seems daunting. And, to be honest, not many people undertake such a big task. This 22-year-old was up for the challenge! In 2020, inspired by Around the World in Eighty Days, Caitlyn Lubas planned an elaborate trip visiting all 7 continents in 7 months – but then the global pandemic got in the way. Nevertheless, Caitlyn knows how to plan a global trip – while sticking to as tight a budget as possible – that helps you see the whole wide world in a short time frame. In this session, you'll learn:
      • Strategies for choosing which countries to hit in a nearby radius
      • How to strategize your global route
      • How to prepare for the trip mentally – there's a lot of change and cultural difference to absorb in a short time period!
ABOUT THE SPEAKER Caitlyn Lubas has been to 78 countries and all 7 continents by the age of 22, and is publishing a book called You Are Where You Go: A Traveler's Coming of Age Journey with the goal of inspiring others to see travel as a way to learn and grow outside their comfort zones. She has studied abroad 6 times across 5 continents while attending NYU and earning a degree in Marketing and Global Business, going on to work in a product strategy role for Instagram Stories post-grad. She is soon making the leap to being a full time travel entrepreneur and is currently living the digital nomad life, hopping around the US while working remotely. Caitlyn is passionate about travel, food, culture, and music, and is happy to share travel recommendations anytime! Connect with Caitlyn:
