How To Prepare for Any Emergency While Traveling

      Forum Description

Let's talk about travel emergencies! Stepping out your door into the unknown is what makes travel so exciting. Each day brings endless possibilities, but that possibility is for both good and bad. You may end up enjoying a day sightseeing in Paris — or getting robbed in Berlin. You may spend an amazing day on the beaches of Thailand — or suffer food poisoning in Costa Rica. Food poisoning, broken limbs, COVID, car accidents, robberies — they happen.  Each and every year, over 10 million travelers are hospitalized abroad, and safety is a growing concern. If you ended up sick or injured, or your security was threatened, would you know what to do, or who to turn to? If you were very seriously injured, or lost all your documentation, would you be able to get home? Would you have the right coverage and money to pay for medical care? It’s no fun to be unprepared when life throws unexpected curve-balls at you. That’s especially true if you’re abroad when it happens. And while bad things don’t happen often on the road, they can — and do! As unpleasant as they are to think about, it’s important to be prepared for those situations. After all, it’s better to be well prepared and have nothing go wrong, than ill-prepared during a disaster! Join us to learn about…
      • Simple things to pack with you to be prepared for pretty much anything
      • Things to watch out for & avoid while on the road
      • The best types of insurance & other travel protections you can have
      • Who you can call in an emergency

She spent 14 years at MTV, as Vice President of Music and Talent, and brings over 20 years of experience in brand strategy, consumer marketing and public relations to her current role. Her viral content marketing and artist integrated campaigns over the years, featuring celebrities like Miley Cyrus and will.i.am, have earned Emmy, Clio, Webby, CES Global Media and NAACP Awards, multiple Telly Awards, and a nomination for the Titanium Lion at Cannes. She’s a lifetime business and leisure traveler who knows the ins-and-outs of traveling safely and the bare minimum coverages you should not leave home without.

      Medjet

Medjet was the first company in the U.S. to implement the air-medical transport membership concept, and the first program to add medical transport for COVID to its membership benefits. At any given time, Medjet has access to hundreds of air ambulances, commercial medical escorts, and highly trained security and crisis response personnel, ready to launch from both domestic and international locations. The company most notably differentiates from other players in the market through its commitment to arrange air medical transfer, regardless of medical necessity, to the member's hospital of choice in their home country. It is the preferred program for virtually every major luxury travel consortium (Virtuoso, Signature, Westa), and thousands of organizations including AARP, Morgan Stanley, and the NFL. Medjet memberships are available to residents of the U.S., Canada and Mexico, and protect members while traveling 150 miles or more from their primary residence.
