Have you been wanting to create a YouTube channel, but were too afraid to start the process?
Do you have a channel, but haven't seen any growth?
Well guess what...you are not alone.
In fact, Jaye was in this same situation not long ago.
In 2018, she was working as a college professor and community manager at a co-working establishment, when a friend convinced her to start a YouTube channel. She had no idea what she wanted her channel to be about. She just knew that she wanted to make videos. After almost two years of no traction, something happened that changed the trajectory and niche of her channel. A local news story had gained national attention, and she just so happened to have insider information on the subject. What does someone do when they have insider information? They make a video and post it on YouTube... of course!
Jaye posted that video on August 19, 2020 with 100 subscribers, and within one week her channel grew to over 7k subscribers and over 100k views.
She was shocked!
Many factors went into that video going viral and her channel blowing up, but the main contributing factor was that she set her channel and videos up for success right out the gate. She researched titles, tags and keywords to make sure her video had the best chances of getting in front of a bigger audience.
